Made Plans ("we", "our", or "us") helps you plan memorable dates with confidence. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Made Plans mobile and web applications (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Contact Information

  • Name: Your display name, collected when you create an account or update your profile.
  • Email Address: Your email address, used for account creation, authentication, password resets, and customer support communication.

Location Information

  • Precise Location: GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) with high accuracy, used to generate location-based date suggestions and calculate distances between locations.
  • Coarse Location: City and neighborhood information, used to identify supported cities and provide location context for date planning.

User Content

  • Photos or Videos: Images you upload to help us understand your partner's interests. Photos are processed using AI vision technology and automatically deleted within 24 hours, while extracted interest data may be retained.
  • Emails or Text Messages: Content you may upload to help us understand your partner's interests and preferences.
  • Other User Content: Text interests you manually enter, feedback you provide, and any other user-generated content you share with us.

Identifiers

  • User ID: A unique identifier associated with your account, used to link your data and personalize your experience.
  • Device ID: A unique identifier for your device, used to deliver push notifications and manage multiple devices per account.

Purchase Information

  • Subscription Tier: Information about your subscription status (free, plus, or premium), used to determine feature access and usage limits.

Usage Data

  • Product Interaction: Information about how you interact with the Service, including selections, taps, clicks, and other in-app actions.
  • Other Usage Data: API usage metrics, quality scores, and other data about your activity in the app.

Diagnostics

  • Crash Data: Information about app crashes and errors, collected to improve app stability and fix bugs.
  • Performance Data: Information about app performance, including launch time and responsiveness metrics.
  • Other Diagnostic Data: Technical diagnostic information collected to measure and improve app functionality.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Analytics

We use data to evaluate user behavior, understand the effectiveness of our features, plan new features, and measure audience characteristics. This includes analyzing how users interact with date suggestions, which features are most popular, and how we can improve the Service.

Product Personalization

We customize your experience based on your preferences, interests, location, and prior activity. This includes generating personalized date suggestions, recommending venues and activities that match your interests, and adapting the app to your usage patterns.

App Functionality

We use data to:

  • Authenticate your account and enable core features
  • Generate date recommendations based on your inputs
  • Store and manage your saved plans
  • Deliver push notifications
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account
  • Prevent fraud and maintain security
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
  • Ensure server reliability and minimize crashes

3. Data Linked to Your Identity

All data we collect is linked to your identity through your user account. This means your data is associated with your email address, user ID, and other account information. We do not anonymize or de-identify your data before collection.

4. Data Not Used for Tracking

We do not use your data for tracking purposes. This means we do not:

  • Link your data with third-party data from other apps or websites for advertising
  • Share your data with data brokers
  • Use your data for targeted advertising or advertising measurement
  • Use third-party SDKs that repurpose your data for advertising

All data we collect is used solely for first-party app functionality, personalization, and analytics to improve your experience.

5. AI Vision Processing

Images uploaded to Made Plans are processed using AI vision processing technology to extract interest signals that power our date recommendation engine. This automated analysis identifies visual themes, activities, and preferences shown in your images. Processing occurs securely and automatically; no human reviewers access your photos during automated processing. Photos are automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload, while extracted interest data may be retained to improve your experience. This processing is necessary to deliver the Service. If you do not consent to AI processing of your photos, please do not upload them or use the Service.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers to operate the Service, including:

  • Supabase: For database storage and authentication
  • RevenueCat: For subscription management
  • Google Places API: For venue search and location services
  • AI Service Providers: For image processing and date suggestion generation
  • Hosting Providers: For app infrastructure
  • Sentry: For crash reporting and performance monitoring (when configured)

Each provider is bound by contractual obligations to safeguard your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain profile and planning data while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which initiates a GDPR-compliant teardown: profile data, plans, and media assets are permanently removed from our systems.

8. Security

We employ technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging of administrative actions. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us if you suspect unauthorized activity.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete personal data. You can manage most information directly in the app. For additional requests, contact us at info@madeplans.app.

10. Children's Privacy

Made Plans is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. We will notify you of significant updates via the Service or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
